Flying Cranes
The sky is falling. No, it's just another huge crane tumbling from the sky, smashing steel and iron and concrete and everything in its way. The beauty of its destructive path would actually be quite impressive if it weren't for the lives lost. Yes We Have A New Design

...as of today, which, along with all the other new functionalties (see the big changes and new fuctions in Events, means we are going to start blogging, too - i.e. the old 'news' function is now a blog, which for the most part will remain a place to comment in pithy fashion with on and off again levity about the news and culture in general, will be brief notes rather than fully fleshed out pieces. Sometimes you'll just see purely joke posts like the one below. Allow us some time to work out the kinks and get in a rhythm, but check in, bookmark us for pete's sake, comment, what have you. Fanzine hasn't become a blog, but yes we do have one now. Here's to it...now what happened last night? More on that soon.

Get In Shape With Wii Fit (or Just Make Bread)
Shigeru Miyamto's newest game creation, Wii Fit, an exercise balance board that senses a player's motion when standing upon it, allowing one to do yoga, head butt soccer balls into a net, and other simulated exercise games, is pretty nifty. But in yonder days, like in the '80's when Nintendo was just getting started with Mario and Donkey Kong, people got in shape the old fashioned way, making bread like this dude here.

Oil reaches 135, New Energy Bill
Crude oil again reached a record level yesterday trading at around 135 dollars a barrel, sending most stocks on the NYSE stocks plummeting. Meanwhile congress has finally started getting a bit more serious about alternative energies with a new bill that includes tax incentives for wind, solar and other renewable energy sources. The richest man in the world is backing Obama...read here from the lips of the so called "oracle from Omaha" himself. And if this is soothsaying, then it doesn't seem to bode well the conservative argument for McCain.
