Stephen Meritt, and I don't even know what the dude looks like, will have your special lady swooning and swaying with that abnormally harmonized voice of his, cranking out the classic love songs of the hipster generation. Weirdly, the first Magnetic Fields song I ever heard was the one sung by Susan Anway, and later magnificently covered by Superchunk, the one called "100,000 Fireflies." When I later heard Meritt I thought what the hell is this. How badly I initially misjudged his powers. Amazingly these shows aren't all sold out yet, but it won't last.
